Breckenridge is a stunning place to elope with its picturesque mountains, tranquil lakes, and sprawling forests. As a Colorado elopement photographer who has had the opportunity to capture many elopements in this area, I have come to know the best locations for couples who want to tie the knot in this part of the Rockies! In this blog post, I will share with you some of the best Breckenridge elopement locations that I know!
Each location has its unique charm, so no matter what you’re looking for, you’re sure to find a spot that speaks to you. Without further ado, let’s dive into the best places to elope in Breckenridge!
First up on our list is Loveland Pass Lakes! This location boasts stunning views of the surrounding mountains and crystal-clear lakes. It’s the perfect spot for couples who want to incorporate an easy hike and exchange their vows in a serene and peaceful setting. The best part? The lakes are easily accessible, so you won’t have to trek too far to get to this picture-perfect location!
For couples who want a bit more of a challenge, Sniktau Mountain Trail is the perfect spot for your Breckenridge elopement. This trail offers breathtaking views of the Tenmile Range and Dillon Reservoir. The hike up may be steep, but the view from the top is worth it! Plus, you’ll feel on top of the world!
The trail is rated as difficult, but the majority of the couples that elope here only go about a half mile to reach the stunning view for portraits!
If you’re looking for a location with a little bit of everything, McCullough Gulch is the perfect spot for you. This location offers roaring waterfalls, clear alpine lakes, breathtaking mountain views, and even a little bit of mining history. It’s the perfect spot for couples who want a variety of landscapes for their elopement portraits! McCullough Gulch is split into 3 different trails, each offering a unique hiking and elopement experience.
Next on our list is Boreas Pass, a historic mountain pass that offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. This location is perfect for couples who want a touch of history and nostalgia during their Colorado elopement. The views at the top are truly breathtaking, and the old train trestles make for some truly unique photo opportunities!
Located on the Continental Divide, Hoosier Pass sits at an elevation of over 11,500 feet, making it one of the highest points on the drive between Breckenridge and Alma. Hoosier Pass features beautiful alpine meadows and wildflower fields, which makes for a beautiful backdrop for your elopement photos!
One of the best things about Hoosier Pass is that it is accessible by car, so even couples who aren’t up for a strenuous hike can still experience the beauty of this location. However, for those who want to explore the surrounding trails, there are many options for hiking and mountain biking in the area.
Blue Lakes Trail is sixth on this list of Breckenridge elopement locations! For couples who love a good hike, Blue Lakes Trail is a great contender! This trail offers stunning views of the Blue Lakes and Quandary Peak, as well as a variety of wildflowers in the summer months. It’s the perfect spot for couples who want a true mountain adventure on their special day!
Just a short drive from Breckenridge lies Dillon Lake, a stunning location with picturesque views of the Ten Mile Range and Dillon Reservoir. Whether you prefer a lakeside ceremony or an intimate mountain elopement, Dillon Lake offers a variety of options to suit your style. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also take a short hike to the top of Buffalo Mountain for an incredible 360-degree view of the area. With its serene beauty and stunning vistas, Dillon Lake is a perfect choice for a romantic and memorable elopement in Breckenridge!
If you’re looking for a location that’s easily accessible but still offers stunning views, Sapphire Point is the perfect spot for your elopement. This location sits just off Swan Mountain Road and offers breathtaking views of Dillon Reservoir and the surrounding peaks. It’s the perfect spot for couples who want a simple yet beautiful location for their elopement.

Last but certainly not least on our list is Rivertree Lodge. This stunning venue offers a rustic and intimate setting for your elopement and is perfect for accommodating a larger guest list on your wedding day.
