I absolutely loved my time as Jordan and Daniel’s Downtown Cincinnati engagement photographer capturing romantic and whimsical moments in the city!
Our time together started at the top of one of Cincinnati’s most popular (and tasty) restaurants, “The View at Shire’s Garden.” This restaurant has a very significant and special place in their hearts as it is the same place where Daniel got on a knee and popped the question on 12/31/2021. When they mentioned this story to me and their desire for a romantic environment during their consultation, I knew we had to make it happen!
The restaurant sits on the tenth floor of a building along Vine Street that has an amazing view of Downtown Cincinnati. The restaurant’s most distinguishable feature has to be the awesome, classy bar in the center of the main area. We hopped over to the other side of the bar (with permission of course) to pop open a bottle or champagne for some photos.
Over off into the corner of the main room was an elegant piano set. The two sat beside one another and Jordan attempted to teach Daniel how to play a song. After a glass of champagne and a few keys later, we head back down into the city.
Vine Street in downtown Cincinnati is lined with towering buildings, so it was pretty chilly with all of the icy wind rushing through the streets. To stay warm, we got Jordan and Daniel moving and running across the roads along the crosswalks to capture some whimsical photos while really showing off the magnitude of the tall buildings downtown.
We found a Lime Scooter off to the side of the road and paid for about fifteen minutes of use. We captured some fun photos of Daniel driving around a parking lot while Jordan tried not to fall off the back. I even got to hop onto the scooter for a couple minutes and zip up and down the alleys!
Before making our way to the “Purple People Pedestrian Bridge” which had an awesome riverside view of Downtown Cincinnati, we stopped for a little coffee break to warm back up at “Lola’s Coffee Shop + Bar.” We ordered a couple of their signature latte’s and a Key Lime pastry to snack on before heading back into the cold to close out their engagement session.
Once we made our way onto the pedestrian bridge, the sun was starting to set and the temperature was really starting to drop, so the two cuddled up close to one another for some romantic portraits. Once the low temperatures and icy winter wind was a little too much for us, we made our way back to the car and ended our time together with a big meal at “Moerlein Lager House.”
Despite the cold, their romantic engagement session was full of so much love and joy. It was amazing to have the opportunity to be Jordan and Daniel’s Downtown Cincinnati engagement photographer. I can’t wait to celebrate with these two on their wedding day!
I capture the memories and dreams of adventurous couples across the US and beyond. Adventure elopements, destination weddings, micro-soirees - if you have a story you want to share with the world, I’d be honored to tell it.
